For your best friends, or first dates, or to whoever else…
(I add to these over time, but the Shopping Cart one is my favorite)
- Do you return the shopping cart after you take it to your car and unload your groceries?
- If you are driving at night, and see a car with no headlights on, in the lane next to you but slightly ahead of you, would you switch lanes and flash your highbeams, to let them know their lights are off? If you answer yes, have you ever done it before?
- Do you walk to the end of the train cart for a seat if it appears less busy or stay in the middle where there is an open seat but more crowded?
- Let’s say you owned an apartment building that is a door down from a local Fire Department building that houses only like two fire trucks. Do you volunteer the info in your apt description on Zillow that there is an FD nearby and that fire engine sounds are sometimes heard over the day/night, or do you let people figure that out for themselves?
- How many people do you know, where if they asked you to do any of these things, you’d do it no hesitations:
- They call at 2am and said “I need you to drive 3 hours, pick me up and drive me to the hospital and stay there for an undetermined amount of time (maybe a few hours or 1-2 days).”
- For the sticklers, yes you would call off work but you wouldn’t get laid off. Yes someone in your family would need to watch your kids. If there is no one then you’d call a nanny. Just play along with the hypothetical.
- They call and you can 100% confirm it is them, they ask you to venmo some decent sum of money in 60 seconds (maybe $1k, maybe $10k, nothing crazy), and they said they’ll probably pay you back and you don’t know when.
- They call you at 8am and need you to drive 10 hours for them right now for a task, and you are the only person who can do this task.
